The fruity, acidic flavour of the cranberry combined with pomegranate juice is a must for lifestyle-loving gourmets.
Both pomegranate and cranberry are distinguished by their high polyphenol-content (tannins, flavonoids).
… that, after fleeing from England, the Pilgrim Fathers were aquainted with the cranberry by Native Americans when they reached the coast of Massachusetts in 1620?
The natural home of the cranberry lies in the raised moorlands in the eastern parts of North America to Canada and south of North Carolina to Virginia. Cranberries are about the size of smaller cherries. The ripe fruits are bright red in colour and have four inner air chambers. The branches continue to grow without limit (up to 1m per year); the leaves are leathery, evergreen and 1 to 2 cm long.
